5 minutes required to solve the issues and complaints: The BESCOM Speaks

Just as things will fall in the correct place according to the plan, the consumers in the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company’s (BESCOM) dominion will get their own supply of power distresses in not more than 5 minutes. This will only be possible as the utility of power is accelerating much to follow and fulfill the striving project pertaining to the Distribution Automation System also known as the DAS by the end of September in the upcoming year.

As soon as this automated monitoring and regulatory mechanism and the operation of the 11KV network around the city will diminish the time consumed to pick out the faults in comparison to the 45 to 75 minutes which is much more to present scenario of 5 minutes.

Energy Minister Mr. D.K Shivakumar paid a recent visit to the RMU which the Ring Main Unit located in Peenya Industrial Area. After witnessing the situation he marked that it would have been much better if the DAS system was first put into use in the major city areas. The minister also judged the consumer oriented initiatives of the BESCOM too adding the current complaint redressal mechanism.

The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation’s director Mr. G. Kumar Naik marked that the project is expected to condense the influential areas as well as the time taken to regenerate power. This is majorly because of the out of order section is in the dark and the supply of power is restored to the healthier sections by pouring and contracting power from various different feeders.

The General Manager of DAS System Mr. L. Ravi stated that the project was initially incepted back during the year 2008 as per the plan the system would have the centralized monitoring stations at the HSR Layout and also Rajajinagar.

In the meanwhile Mr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey the director of the BESCOM exclaimed that around 1,590 such RMUs will be installed and thus, the costing for the entire project will go up approximately it will cost Rupees 560 Crore.

It is also talked about that the BESCOM has taken a loan for approximately Rs. 450 Crore from the Japan international Cooperation Agency. It is also clear that each RMU will cost nearly Rs. 7 Lakhs and also the RTU which is the Remote Terminal Unit helps in enabling the radio communications will thereby cost nearly Rs. 3 Lakhs for each unit.

Insolent grid System: This Smart and Insolent grid is a smarter and a more intelligent and automated intellect which is empowered by the ICT and thus, helps in checking and monitoring the availability and also the demand of energy. As the Insolent Grid System is getting implemented on a pilot basis in the locality of Electronic City, the entire process is undergoing a major slowdown, due to many reasons where as the Director also declared that the same installation will also take place in the location Indiranagar too.
